Monitoring and Evaluation - The Governing Body's Role

This module has been designed to enable you to:

  • identify and discuss your governing body's role in school improvement
  • focus on the monitoring and evaluation stages of the school improvement process
  • discuss in detail the School Improvement Plan, your headteacher's report and governors' visits to your school.

As your governing body must act as a corporate body, you should share your learning with fellow governors so together you are able to best support your school's improvement process. You could also contact your local authority to arrange a facilitated session on monitoring and evaluation for all the governors at your school.

We suggest you allow approximately 45 minutes to work through the module and a further 15 minutes to complete the learning review.
