Safeguarding - The Governors' Role

This module explains the importance of safeguarding for school governors.  It offers guidance that will enable governors to be actively aware of, and involved in, safeguarding procedures in their schools.

The module describes:
  • your school's statutory responsibilities for safeguarding children
  • the roles and responsibilities of the Designated Person for child protetion in your school
  • processes for safer recuitment in your school
  • safer working practices
  • processes for dealing with allegations

We suggest you allow approximately 45 minutes to work through the module and a further 15 minutes to complete the learning review.
